Today one of the most patriotic holidays Vyshyvanka Day was celebrated at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
On the third Thursday of May the World Vyshyvanka Day is celebrated. It is a holiday that aims to preserve folk traditions of creating and wearing embroidered Ukrainian clothes. Vyshyvanka is a pride of our Ukrainian people and a symbol of the ethnic belonging of each of us to our native land and history.
The All-Ukrainian action “Vyshyvanka Day” was founded by Lesya Voroniuk, a student of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations of the Chernivtsi National University named after Yuri Fedkovych in 2007, now a well-known children’s writer. First embroideries were dressed by several dozen students and several faculty teachers. And in the course of the following years the holiday became the All-Ukrainian.
