Webometrics-2015: LNU Among Thirty Best Universities

Webometrics World Ranking has recently publicized the results according to which LNU is among thirty best universities.
Ranking covers thousands of the universities and educational establishments all over the world. That’s why as on January, 2015 297 higher educational establishments of Ukraine took their ranking web-places (there were 313 last year). This year Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University has taken the 27th place in Webometrics Ranking http://life.pravda.com.ua/society/2015/02/16/189441/). In spite of such difficult situation and special working conditions the university raised its position almost on 10 points in the ranking as compared to the last year (35 place). So Luhansk National University keeps bearing a title of the education leader.
Let us remember that Webometrics is a web ranking system for the world’s universities aimed to analyze the level of university activity on the Internet space. The ranking started in 2004 and is updated twice a year in June – July and January.
The developers evaluate content and informative part of university website. That means they take into account quality of methodological materials of education establishment, scientific works citation, number of indexed web pages by search engines, number of attached files and external links to the resources. But the developers note that website design and attendance ratio does not influence on the ranking position.
Traditionally for the last two years Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv remains the most presence educational establishment on the Web (as on January, 2015).
