Participation in the Meeting with the Minister

The leader of student self-government of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports Valeriya Ryzhkova took part in the meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports Igor Zhdanov.

On May 15, at the initiative of the NGO “Youth Anti-Corruption Agency” in the Ministry of Youth and Sports, representatives of student self-government met with the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Igor Zhdanov, Deputy Minister Oleksandr Yarema and the Director of the Department of Youth Policy Iryna Belyaeva. Among more than 50 student government organizations from all regions of Ukraine was a representative of the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”.  The Chairman of student self-government, second-year student majoring in “Human Health” Valeriya Ryzhkova represented the Educational and Scientific Institute of Physical Education and Sports.

The event was devoted to the discussion of the main directions of the state youth policy in Ukraine and the opportunities for cooperation of student activists with the Ministry and regional departments on youth issues. During the meeting, the Minister told the participants about the main principles of the youth policy, about the current work of the department in this direction, about initiatives to which student organizations can join. “It is nice that students participate in the public life of the state. The ministry works on the principle “No decision for youth is not accepted without youth”, therefore we are always ready for a constructive dialogue, proposals and cooperation,” – Igor Zhdanov noted.

Participants of the meeting actively discussed issues of interest to student youth, and agreed on further cooperation.
