The University Administration Meeting

A regular meeting of the University Administration took place at the University.
Two main issues were on the agenda:
- the state and prospects for the development of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications;
- the course of the entrance campaign in 2017.
Tetiana S. Pinchuk spoke about the state and prospects for the development of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications. Having heard and discussed the report of the Dean of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications, the University Administration noted that in the academic year 2016 – 2017 the Faculty worked in four areas: forming a contingent of students, scientific, educational, methodological and social and humanitarian work.
The Faculty trains specialists in the specialties “Secondary education”, “Philology”, “Journalism” with the corresponding specializations. The educational process is provided by four departments: the Department of Ukrainian Language, the Department of Ukrainian Philology and General Linguistics, the Department of Ukrainian Literature, the Department of Journalism and Publishing.
According to the results of scientific work of students during 2016 – 2017, twenty prize-winning places were won in international, All-Ukrainian, and regional competitions. During the reporting period, students of LTSNU have published 79 articles in the scientific publications of LNU and other universities. More than 50 students took part in the traditional student scientific-practical conference “Creativity of Taras Shevchenko in the context of the era” in 2017.
The students of the Faculty take an active part in the traditional events of the Shevchenko Week, concert programs, general and city events; show an active civic position. With the vocational guidance and for the development of the creative abilities of students and entrants, regional competitions “Boritesya – poborote!”, “The Figurative Word of Luhansk Land”, “In childhood you open the continent, which is then called the homeland”.
During the year, teachers of the Faculty took an active part in all career guidance activities (visits, Applicant Days), worked on the courses of the Preparatory Department of LTSNU, carried out electronic information support of potential entrants through correspondence by e-mail.
At the same time, the University Administration noted unresolved problems at the Faculty, among them the untimely compilation of control points for correspondence students and the reduction of the effectiveness of student scientific works in All-Ukrainian competitions.
A report on the course of the entrance campaign in 2017 was made by Ya.I. Yurkiv. Having heard and discussed the report of the responsible secretary of the Admission Committee, the Rector noted that the university staff had done a considerable amount of work in organizing the admission of entrants in 2017 to various forms of education and educational levels.
According to the Conditions for admission to higher education institutions of Ukraine, approved by Order No. 1236 on October 13, 2016 and registered in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on November 23, 2016 under No. 1515/29645, the Regulations on the Admission Commission of the University, the work plan for the University Admission Committee for 2017 have been developed and approved Rules for admission to the University in 2017; a list of specialties and specializations for bachelor’s and master’s degrees; the list of certificates of the External independent evaluation for admission to the educational degree of bachelor and professional entrance examinations for the master’s degree; proposals on the volumes of admission to the public procurement places and at the expense of other sources of financing. All the necessary exam materials for the entrance examinations were prepared; the main structural subdivisions of the admission committee were formed and approved.
The admission committee, the Marketing Department, the faculties, the Educational and Research Institutes carry out the corresponding measures for the organization of the advertising and career guidance campaign: the applicant’s days at the university and all its separate structural divisions were held. Visits to all districts and cities of Luhansk and Donetsk regions were held according to the approved schedule. The university’s advertising is constantly carried out through the mass media, targeted distribution of advertising and propaganda materials.
