Second Place at the European Championships

The master student of LNU took the second place at the European Powerlifting Championships.

The master student majoring in “Physical Culture and Sports, Sports” of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports, Master of Sports of Ukraine of the International Class Mykola Barannik became a silver medalist of the European Powerlifting Championships, which was held in the Spanish city of Malaga from May 8 to 14.

The Championship attracted almost 250 participants from 17 countries of Europe. Our student competed in the weight category up to 74 kg and, having collected in the sum of the eventing of 815 kg, took the second prize-winning place.

In addition, Mykola has two more “small” awards of the Championships – “silver” in the squat (310 kg) and “gold” in the bar press (230 kg).

Thanking to this successful performance, our athlete helped the national team of Ukraine to take the second place in the overall standings of the European Championship.
