A festive concert dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of the victory over Nazism in the Second World War was held at the University.
There are events in the history of the international community, the memory of which for many years remains a painful memory and an example of invincible courage and heroism. The brown plague, which in the twentieth century changed the lives of many people, has become an instructive lesson for the next generation.
Honoring the feat of the winners of Nazism in the Second World War and the participants in the Ukrainian liberation movement, teachers and students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University on the eve of the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation and the 72nd anniversary of the victory over Nazism, held a festive theatrical concert “We Remember, and This Means We Win”.
The tragic events of 1939-1945 are actual in the 21st century, when military aggression in the East of Ukraine became a sad example of ignoring the basic principles of international cooperation. During the period of the military conflict, thousands of Ukrainian soldiers were killed, therefore, according to the director of the festive event O.P. Mironova, the main purpose of the concert was the idea that human life is the highest value.
The honorary guests of the event were the participants of the war, children of the war, veterans of the Starobilsk State Teachers’ Institute, namely: Mykola Ivanovych Molozhon, Viktor Omelyanovych Emelianenko, Klaudia Tymofiivna Taurina, Valentyna Pavlivna Kudinova, Galyna Ivanivna Yurchenko. Also the military of the State Border Service of Ukraine came to see the festive concert.
The Rector of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University Serhii V. Savchenko addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. The scientist congratulated all participants of the event, thanked the veterans for their feat and noted that the Ukrainian people, having suffered irreparable losses from the invaders, made a great contribution to the victory over Nazism. The Rector also expressed his gratitude for the protection of the Fatherland under present conditions to the servicemen present.
Honoring the courage and spiritual stamina of the veterans present at the concert, the students presented them flowers and wished good health, inspiration, kindness and optimism.
The continuation of the event was touching and heartfelt songs performed by teachers, staff and students of the University. The composition “Victory Day”, which was performed by the student of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture And Arts Serhii Chuvylkin, caused tears and genuine emotions among those present.
Particularly sensitive was the song “Cuckoo” performed by Serhii Sergienko. War veterans, teachers and student youth, together with the performer, plunged into a metaphorical atmosphere of fate and some doom.
Nadiya Veprytska, who presented the song composition “Come Back Alive,” expressed pain of loss and support to those heroes who today defend our Motherland.
Choreographic performances complemented the holiday, striking the audience with grace and skill, and at the end of the concert, the participants of the event paid tribute to the victims of the bloody tragedy of the 20th century with a minute of silence.
The heroic efforts of the Ukrainian people in World War II are a matter of national pride and memory of the modern generation. This memory makes us stronger. It is the guarantee of the inevitability of our victory today.
