The student scientific readings of the section “History of Ukraine. Historical Local Lore” were held at the Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College.

An important component of the future development of the university and the region is the research work of student youth and the study of local lore problems. Since January 2017, students of the Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College have been working on scientific research, took part and received honorable prizes in the regional contest of electronic projects of the local lore direction “United and Strong”, which is being held in the city of Lysychansk.

Today, during the scientific readings, students with the support of the head of the section, Candidate of Historical Sciences O.I. Bublyk, presented their own experience. The event was attended by the Deputy Director for the Social and Humanitarian Work of the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences A.V. Bader and the Director of Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College E.S. Kovpak.

At the beginning of the event, the Candidate of Historical Sciences A.V. Bader congratulated all those present. The scientist noted that Slobozhanshchina and Starobilsk have an interesting history that needs to be studied and explored.

Students, who demonstrated the results of their own activities before the general public, continued the scientific holiday. The youth explored the historical past of many areas of our region, studied archival materials, communicated with reputable local historians and prepared detailed reports on selected topics. Particularly interesting was the presentation of Valeria Kalyuzhna. She told about the history of the settlement of Slobozhanshchina, the life of its first inhabitants, and also characterized the exhibits of the open-air museum, which is located on the territory of our University.

Alina Kolesnik in the report on the topic “The history of the founding of my native village Markovka” analyzed the development of her native land from the time of foundation to the present. The student noted that the first school in Markovka was opened in 1816, and the cause of the greatest pride of local residents is the Hero of the Soviet Union AI. Yeremenko, who spent his childhood in the settlement Markovka.

Lilia Astanina continued regional studies and presented her scientific work on the topic “Historical trails of my native village Zelikovka”. Based on the results of archaeological research, the girl proved that in the territory of her small homeland were buried the dead soldiers of the Prince Igor Svyatoslavovich.

Alena Ostapenko presented two scientific works: “Founding and development of settlements in the territory of Slobozhanshchina on the example of the study of the settlement Belolutsk” and “The life feat of Vasyl Semyonovych Derevyanko.” In her reports, the student described the history of the development of the Slobozhanshchina during the Cossacks period, and also analyzed the life and military path of the Honorary Citizen of Starobilsk Vasyl Derevyanko.

The history of the villages of Baydivka, Lozno-Oleksandrivka, Lysogorivka and Mostki was thoroughly described by Elyzaveta Chernyaeva, Valentyna Pidnebenna, Anastasia Pronka and Victoria Kovalenko. The first-year student Yaroslav Kuvichko talked about the life and work of the famous poet Ivan Savych.

Summing up the work of scientific readings, the Director of the Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College E.S. Kovpak noted that the work of students is effective, and the studies presented at the event are relevant and require further study. The director and candidate of historical sciences O.I. Bublyk awarded the participants of the event with diplomas and wished further achievements in scientific research.
