All-Ukrainian Scientific-Practical Conference

On April 27, the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology hosted the All-Ukrainian Scientific-Practical Conference “Strategic priorities of philology and linguodidactics in the conditions of reforming the educational system in Ukraine.”

The initiator of the conference was the Department of Philological Disciplines. The co-organizers of the conference were the Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University named after M. Kotsyubinsky, Oleksandr Dovzhenko Glukhiv National Pedagogical University, Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University.

The conference was attended by scientists, university professors, school teachers, pre-school education workers, postgraduate students, master students (total 45 people) who exchanged the results of scientific and practical research.

The conference was opened by Olena Karaman, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, who congratulated the participants on the beginning of the event and spoke about the peculiarities of the functioning of the University evacuated from the temporarily uncontrolled territory of Ukraine.

After that the Deputy Director for Educational Work, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Oksana Tsalapova wished all those present success in scientific work and made a report “Modern technologies of analysis of the artistic text.”

In the follow-up report, Doctor of Philology, Professor Vitalina Kizilova focused on updating the content of literary education in the comprehensive school, the impetus for which was its reforming, the adoption of the concept of the “New Ukrainian School.” She also talked about the weighty of the literary and linguistic preparation of modern schoolchildren, the principles of the formation of modern literature programs, stressed the key theoretical issues of the functioning and development of the latest literature for children in Ukraine, which, according to the updated programs of the primary school, took an important place in the course “Literary reading”.

A logical continuation of the presentation was the presentation of the works of contemporary writers prepared by the students majoring in “Primary Education”. The names of these authors were introduced into the updated program on literary reading.

The Head of the Department of Philological Disciplines, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Natalia Mordovtseva in her report opened theoretical foundations for the formation of research competence of students and the pedagogical conditions for its implementation in the educational environment of a higher educational institution.

Representatives of different universities of Ukraine also took part in the online conference. The Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language, Literature and Methods of Education of Oleksandr Dovzhenko Glukhiv National Pedagogical University Svitlana Tsinko revealed the problem of self-evaluation in the process of training a literature teacher, described the types, functions and features of self-esteem as a psychological and linguistic concept.

The Report of Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Preschool and Primary Education of Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University named after Mykhailo Kotsyubinsky Natalia Rodyuk was devoted to the formation of professional and pedagogical communication of future teachers. The researcher confirmed the relationship between the personality of the future teacher, his communicative knowledge, habits and the formation of communicative skills, and also considered the basic requirements for competence in communicating with students, parents, colleagues.

The Deputy Director for Teaching and Educational Work of Uzhhorod Specialized School of І-ІІІ degrees No. 5 with in-depth study of foreign languages, Candidate of Philological Sciences Olga Kaveshligeti revealed the issue related to the reform of the content of higher pedagogical and philological education in the direction of strengthening the literary and linguistic component of teacher training, substantiated the advisability of using the means of Ukrainian literature (in particular, the unknown before and the rare drama-fairy tale by A. Bobulsky “Tsarevich Alphonse” (1932)) to optimize the national language education of the individual.

During the conference, in particular, such issues were discussed:

  • Aspects of professional communication in education: the modern value paradigm;
  • Conceptual principles of language and literary training in educational institutions: reboot, regeneration, changing norms, setting priorities;
  • Philological education and science in universities: challenges of the present, the main tasks;
  • Ukrainian language, Ukrainian literature, world literature as educational disciplines: autonomy or integration, the principles of reform;
  • Structure of pre-school / school / university Ukrainian-centric education, intersubject communications;
  • Speech education in preschool educational institutions in the context of spiritual, emotional and national development;
  • The problems of developing new models of textbooks and manuals, the preparation of new methodological literature in the context of publishing policy in Ukraine;
  • Ukrainian child in a modern multicultural world: the problems of family upbringing;
  • Language as a cultural phenomenon and a factor of national self-identification;
  • Ukrainian literature for and about children in the world historical and cultural context;
  • Modern communication technologies and problems of the formation of the Ukrainian national information space.

As a result of the conference, a collection “Bulletin of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. Series: Pedagogical Sciences” was published, which is a specialized scientific publication of Ukraine.

The work at the Conference was rich, fruitful, interesting, and constructive. It facilitated the identification of promising areas for improving the quality of education of preschool children, pupils of secondary schools and students, and establishing closer relations between higher education institutions, comprehensive schools and preschool institutions in Ukraine.

During the discussion of the results of the Conference, the scientists approved the holding of such an event, focused on its high level and expressed the desire to continue this practice in the future.
