Familiarity with the historical sights of Poltava

The Poltava Regional Universal Scientific Library named after IP Kotlyarevsky got acquainted with the historical sights of Poltava.
The students of the Roman and Germanic Philology Department visited the event “Landmarks of Ukraine” on the twenty-first of April which was organized by the staff of the Poltava local history museum at the Poltava Regional Universal Scientific Library named after I. Kotlyarevsky.
Poltava has a lot of sights and historical monuments. One of them is the Poltava Local History Museum, which began its history in June 1891, created by Professor V. Dokuchaev. There is the mansion of Kotlyarevsky in Poltava, which was restored in 1969.
One of the most famous historical monuments is Poltava, White Alcove, was opened during the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the battle in 1909. There is also a monument to Gogol, created by sculptor L.V. Posen in 1915 and installed in Poltava in 1934, near the Regional Academic Music and Drama Theater named after M. Gogol.
Of course, these are just a few of all the attractions of Poltava, and it was very interesting and informative to listen about them. This event makes everybody want to visit at least some of these places.
