On April 11, the Days of Science began at the Department of Production Technologies and Professional Education of the Educational and Research Institute of Trade, Serving Technologies and Tourism.

Students majoring in “Technological Education” shared first results of their scientific research. The work of the section was supervised by the head of the Department, Assistant Professor V.V. Burdun. The title of the section was “The role of labor training in the concept of a new Ukrainian school”. The students of 1-5 courses and master’s degrees majoring in “Technological education” took part in the work of the section.

The conference began with a pleasant moment. Head of the Department V.V. Burdun awarded the winners of the first round of the Student Scientific Works Contest and Olympiads. Then he told the students about the development of a new Standard of secondary education and about the role that labor training will play in this standard. Then the fourth- and fifth-year students and master students spoke about the results of their diploma and master’s research.

After the scientific conference, all the students majoring in “Technological Education” visited the workshop of creativity. Head of the workshop Olesandr Fliat told the students about the work of the workshop, demonstrated models of aircraft that are manufactured in the workshop, invited students to join the exciting case of modeling and manufacturing of aircraft. Then the Director of the Regional Center for Professional Education of LTSNU Mykola Kurylo addressed students. He told about the prospective plans to create a scientific and methodological center “Master”, which will become a center for the development of technical creativity among students of LTSNU.

The packed day ended with the meeting of the department, at which the results of the Student Scientific Works Contest were summed up; the scientific and academic work of the Department, the quality of distance courses, work on professional agitation and other issues were discussed. At the meeting, the departmental scientific theme was approved.

At the meeting of the Department Associate Professor V.A. Kolesnikov gave the Department scientific literature (monographs, conference proceedings, as well as journals: “Physics and Chemical Mechanics of Materials”) from the laboratory No. 10-1 of the Department No. 10 of the H.V. Karpenko Physico-Mechanical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
