“For a Clean Environment”
18.4.2017
The students of the Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College and the College of LTSNU organized and held a number of events within the framework of the action “For a Clean Environment”.
This was a massive cleaning of the student garden: dry leaves and branches of remains of trees were collected, flower beds were dug up, pedestrian paths were cleaned, etc. At the initiative of students of the group DO-2 and their class teacher A.V. Ternik they held an open educational hour “Clean City – a Clean Conscience”, during which the audience was invited to view an impressive presentation on the environmental theme and take part in the implementation of an environmental project under the same name. Students, along with class leaders, supported the initiative, independently selected the most littered areas of the city and joined hands. Within a few hours, a huge amount of household garbage was collected on the streets of Starobilsk city.
Students of the PO-1 group under the guidance of the class teacher E.K. Reshetlo improved the grave of the Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Ya.B. Reznik, who worked at the Starobilsk Teachers’ Institute in the 1950s. College students constantly take care of the burial place of the famous teacher and consider this an honorable affair.
A student of the college Natalya Veduta, notes: “Today we often hear the words “ecology”, “pollution of the environment”… We have already become accustomed to these words and continue our inaction when everyone can make a feasible contribution to the great common cause. For this you need to start small – to ensure the cleanliness of the city! In this case it should be remembered: it is purely not where they clean, but where they do not litter.”
