Visit of the President of Ukraine

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko arrived in Kreminna city on a working visit to Luhansk region.

The President took part in the solemn opening of the swimming pool and the weightlifting hall of the regional fitness center “Olimp”, where Ukrainian Olympians, Paralympic students and students of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports train.

The accompanying persons of the President were People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Chairman of the Supervisory Council of the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” Vitalii Kurylo; Chairman of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Yuri Garbuz; Chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky; Director of the Department of Education and Science Yuri Stetsyuk and others.

The pupils of the comprehensive school No.2, pupils of the regional lyceum-boarding school for physical culture and sports, sportsmen of children’s and youth sports schools and schools of higher sports skills, as well as students of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of LTSNU attended the event.

During the meeting with the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Vitalii Kurylo, the students told that they conduct classes in weightlifting, track and field athletics and sports games in the center “Olimp”. And now they can go swimming all year round.

Also, students took photos, selfies and assured that such an event would be remembered by them for life.
