In the city of Kreminna, there was a regional workshop “The current state of physical education and the prospects for the development of the mass physical culture and sports movement among children and students”.
It was organized by the Luhansk Regional Branch of the Committee for Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science together with the Luhansk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education. The seminar was organized for the chairmen of the methodical associations of physical education teachers and directors of the Luhansk Regional Children’s Sports School.
The chairman of the Kreminna District Administration N.V. Chekhuta addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. The chairman of the Luhansk Regional Branch of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine N.M. Kravchenko reported on the opening of the first “School of Olympic Education” in the Luhansk region. Yu.M. Polulyashchenko – Director of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of the LTSNU noted the need to introduce mandatory standards of physical training of the population.
The Head of the Luhansk Regional Branch of the CPES of the MES V.V. Ostretsov reported on the state of development of physical education in educational institutions of the Lugansk region and noted the need to intensify information work with the population. The Director of the Luhansk regional lyceum-boarding school for physical culture and sports A.V. Grebenyuk spoke about the first results of the work of the educational establishment and invited all participants of the seminar to intensify the work on selecting the best athletes to the lyceum-boarding school.
The chairman of the Committee for Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Vadym Stetsenko thanked those present for their active attitude to the problems of physical and national-patriotic upbringing, for enthusiasm and ability to work in difficult conditions. He assured that problems that were raised would be considered at the state level in the near future.
