11.4.2017
Students and teachers of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology visited the salt mines.
On April 9, 2017, students and teachers of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology under the leadership of the Deputy Director for Social and Humanitarian Work Vira F. Pushko went on an excursion to the city of Soledar (meaning “to give salt”) of the Donetsk region. The IPP team had a unique opportunity to visit a real salt mine. The sanatorium, which is open to everyone, is located just under the ground. That air, enriched with salt particles, treats asthma and strengthens the nervous system. Such objects are very few in the world.
The tour began with a brief conversation on safety. The route consisted of approximately 700 m, including the return journey to the shaft of the mine. The descent was carried out in the elevator to a depth of 300 meters. The excursion time was about one and a half to two hours.
The whole tour passes through spent mines No. 1 and No. 3, as well as to chamber No. 41-bis, which are located on the area of Podbryantsevsky stratum. The walls, the ceiling, the figures and the trees are made of salt.
The floor of the galleries is filled with salt, the size of the particles is from 1 to 40 mm. The constant air temperature of + 12 ° is maintained under the ground.
Almost the entire tour passes along the bottom of the ancient sea. During the trip, the teachers and students of the IPP also visited the salt football field, underground labyrinths, the concert hall, the underground gallery, and the salt casket; saw the original figures made of salt (gnomes – guards of the underworld, salt palm, etc.).
The guide told the students that under the ground there is also a sanatorium with speleotherapy “Salt Symphony”, which is located at the depth of 288 meters in the salt mine, where people successfully treat bronchopulmonary and various allergic diseases in adults and children.
Students and teachers of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology were delighted with the walks in Soledar salt mines!
