“Ukraine Nation Cup”

Students of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports took part in the International artistic gymnastics tournament “Ukraine Nation Cup”.

The traditional International artistic gymnastics tournament “Ukraine Nation Cup” was held in Kyiv by the Olympic champion in the team competitions Stella Zakharova for the fifteenth consecutive year. Gymnasts from 12 countries (Germany, Hungary, Israel, Malaysia, Slovenia, Montenegro, etc.) gathered in the Sports Palace of the capital. It is interesting that many of competitors were brought to the Ukrainian gymnasts from different parts of the world by their compatriots. So, the men’s team of Germany was supervised in Kyiv by the graduate of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports of 2005, the bronze medalist of the European Championship – 2006 Oleksandr Suprun.

The national team of Ukraine was represented by students of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Evgen Yudenkov and Vladislav Kotsyuban. In all-around, in the absence of the leader of the national team, vice-champion of the Olympics – 2016 in this kind of program Oleg Vernyaev, Yevgen Yudenkov confidently won. The gymnast passed all six kinds without significant errors and won the first place, ahead of the nearest pursuer by almost six points. He also won gold medals in team competitions and in horseback exercises. And he won a silver medal at his favorite rings. Vladislav Kotsuban took the fourth place in the all-around and the fourth place in the exercises on the rings.
