Participation in the Training

The teacher of Luhansk National University took part in the training for community activists on monitoring the observance of the rights of children affected by the ATO.
The event was held on March 23-25 in the city of Svyatogirsk. The Assistant Professor of the Department of Social Pedagogy of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology Yaroslava Yurkiv took part in the training.
The training was conducted by Kharkiv Institute for Social Research with the support of UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine and in cooperation with the Commissioner of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Human Rights. The purpose of the event was to provide specialized knowledge of the characteristics of the situation analysis of children’s rights in emergency situations.
During the training participants received knowledge and practical skills on various topics, such as: actions of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Human Rights to protect the children’s rights, features of the protection of children’s rights among the IDPs, non-institutional social services for children, areas and features of children’s rights monitoring results, features of interviews with children in monitoring and so on.
The theory was reinforced by practice, and on the third day of the training, participants applied knowledge during the study visit to the Sanitation and Rehabilitation Center “Smaragdove misto” (the city of Svyatogirsk).
After training, the trainees will be involved in the child care visits to monitor the rights of children affected by conflict in eastern Ukraine.
