The Conductor’s Debut
27.3.2017
A student of the Institute of Culture and Arts of LTSNU had a conductor’s debut with the Poltava Symphony Orchestra.
On March 24, in the City Palace of Culture in Poltava, a concert of the Poltava Symphony Orchestra was conducted under the direction of the People’s Artist of Ukraine Vitaliy Skakun. In the concert, there was a piano concerto of Beethoven, as well as overtures to operas and operettas of the most famous classical composers.
In addition to the main conductor, maestro Vitaliy Skakun, the student of the Institute of Culture and Arts of our University Anastasia Paramonova conducted the orchestra in this concert. This performance was a real conductor’s debut on her professional concert stage. Anastasia is the second-year student majoring in “Folk Instruments”. She studies orchestral conducting in the class of the Associate Professor Vitaliy Skakun.
Such creative practice concerning attracting the best students-conductors to public concerts of the symphony orchestra, testifies not only to the high level of teaching of professional disciplines at our University, but also to the possibility for students to get real professional experience during training. It should become a good ground for their further practical activities after receiving the university diploma.
