In search of new ways
23.3.2017
The Faculty of Foreign Languages actively conducts advertising and career guidance work among the applicants of the city of Poltava and the Poltava region, in search of new ways and means of influencing the professional choice of future school leavers.
It was possible to find and use e-mail addresses of about 380 secondary schools of the Poltava region, as well as e-mails of all 30 city and district libraries for children, youth and adults.
Recently the Dean of the Faculty Ivan Karpenko addressed a letter to the staff and pupils of these institutions. The letter says: “On behalf of the Rectorate of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, we ask you to bring the information about our Faculty to the attention of the public, parents and pupils as part of the public support program for patriotic higher education institutions that have left the temporarily occupied territories. This becomes especially important after the Russian Federation has “recognized” a number of documents, including diplomas on higher education, issued in so-called “LDPR”. We hope that you share our position that Ukrainian youth should study in Ukrainian higher educational institutions, and not in the fake “universities” of Luhansk and Donetsk.”
Recently, the Dean of the Faculty I.M. Karpenko and the Deputy Dean S.A. Gorbunova met with pupils of the 11th form of a number of schools and gymnasiums in Poltava (No.3, 13, 14, 26, 29, 33). In choosing the places to visit, the Faculty relies primarily on several criteria large number of school leavers; presence of classes with a philological profile; high quality of teaching foreign languages.
According to the Agreement with the directorate of the Poltava I.P. Kotlyarevsky Regional Scientific Library the advertising information about the Faculty is located in the reading rooms and foyer of this organization, and our students regularly take part in all cultural and educational activities held in the library.
