Participation in the Project Implementation

Students of LTSNU take an active part in the International projects implementation. 

The project “International Alert” with the financial support of the European Union “Strengthening efforts to prevent and overcome the effects of violence in the family”, which is carried out by the public organization “Association of experts to overcome the effects of traumatic events” is implemented in the village of Polovynkyne of Starobilsk district.

The project executor is the Psychological Crisis Service in the Luhansk region (Association of professionals to overcome the effects of traumatic events).

The aim of the project is psychosocial support to families of local residents and IDPs to villages of Luhansk region, as well as specialists of the support professions who are affected by the military conflict in the east of the country.

The project provides for the organization of the work of mobile teams with involvement (in the January-July this year) of psychologists and social workers to carry out individual and group sessions of traumatherapy, measures to support families and communities, master classes in visual arts and crafts, etc.

Students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University majoring in “Psychology” and “Social Work” also joined the project as volunteers. The student youth as a part of mobile teams carried out several visits to the village of Polovynkyne and conducted art therapy workshops for children, teenagers and adults.

According to the coordinator of the Center for Psychosocial Adaptation (the city of Starobilsk) Olena Dorogavtseva the activity format of mobile teams “psychological help at home” – is the best and effective provision of psychosocial assistance and support to the population of the villages.

The group and individual interaction is formed depending on the needs of the population. Now it planned a series of training sessions for specialists of helping professions in the psychosocial support for families and communities to address problems associated with family conflicts, work with self-control and emotional stabilization.

At any time, citizens of villages of Starobilsk district may apply to the Center for Psychosocial Adaptation, get advice and invite the mobile brigade to their village.
