LNU is the Leader of Higher Education in Ukraine

On March 16-18, the Eighth International Exhibition “Modern Educational Establishments – 2017” and the Fifth International Exhibition of Education Abroad “WorldEdu” took place in the Kiev Palace of Children and Youth.
The organizers of the main educational event of Ukraine was the company “Exhibition World” with the support and participation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.
This time the event was attended by higher educational establishments and scientific institutions; foreign educational institutions, international educational agencies, representative offices; general educational, pre-school and out-of-school educational institutions, regional and city departments of education; vocational and technical educational institutions and scientific and methodological centers of vocational education; manufacturers and suppliers of teaching aids, projects, educational programs, funds, associations, publishing houses, educational portals.
796 participants from 25 regions of Ukraine and 14 countries of the world: Poland, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, USA, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Moldova, Georgia, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and China testify to the scale and popularity of the current exhibition.
Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is a constant and active participant of the exhibition from the day of its foundation. It is annually recognized as a leader in various categories, is the owner of about 20 medals for innovativeness, relevant scientific developments, quality of education, etc.
At the Exhibition the University took part in two competitions:
- The rating exhibition competition with the awarding of the winners of the Grand Prix “Leader of Higher Education of Ukraine”;
- The competition on thematic nominations with the awarding of winners with gold, silver and bronze medals.
And the University won!
Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University became the winner of the rating exhibition competition and was recognized as the leader of higher education of Ukraine. Our University is the only university in Luhansk and Donetsk region, which was awarded with the highest award and recognition from the educational and scientific community.
On the stage of the Kiev Palace of Children and Youth, the President of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine V.G. Kremin presented the Grand Prix “Leader of Higher Education of Ukraine” to the Chairman of the University Academic and Supervisory Councils V. S. Kurylo.
The Certificate “Quality of Scientific Publications” on the indicators of the independent rating of the international scientometric database SciVerse Scopus was presented to the delegation from the University.
The victory in the competition for the Grand Prix “Leader of higher education in Ukraine” was difficult, since the winners were determined on the basis of the ranking of official performance indicators of higher education institutions in the areas (criteria), namely:
- Internationalization of higher education and international activities.
- The rating of the higher educational institution on the indicators of the scientometric database Scopus.
- Participation of universities in international rankings.
- Scientific and technical activities.
- Quality of scientific and pedagogical staff.
- Student activity.
- Information resources and social infrastructure.
In addition, the experts analyzed and evaluated the report of the Rector S.V. Savchenko for 2016.
Experts noted that in 2016 the University achieved significant results in all areas of activity: restoration, retention and increase of the contingent of students; improving the quality of the staff; organization of educational activities and ensuring the quality of the educational process; educational, methodical and information support of the educational process; the effectiveness of research, innovation, international, socio-humanitarian, sports and artistic activities; development of the material and technical base and social infrastructure.
Being already the third year in a row under unusual conditions, the University in terms of growth and innovation was ahead of other higher educational establishments, and therefore deserved the highest award of the year.
This victory is the merit of the whole staff of the University, which is constantly moving forward despite the difficulties. The Grand Prix of 2017 is another confirmation that Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University has always been, is and will be the flagship of higher education in the eastern region of Ukraine; the initiator and center for creating innovative ideas; the leader of regional development.
