Participation in the Seminar
15.3.2017
Deputy Directors for Social and Humanitarian Work of LTSNU took part in the informative and consultative seminar.
The seminar was supported by the Norwegian Refugee Council. The Norwegian Refugee Council is a humanitarian non-governmental organization that protects the rights of people affected by forced displacement. It assists, protects rights and makes long-term decisions for refugees and internally displaced persons throughout the world.
The seminar was held at the Center for Psychosocial Adaptation. Here they in conjunction with the leading lawyer of the project “Information, counselling and legal assistance” of the Norwegian Council for Refugees Rostislav Korotin discussed a number of important issues that internally displaced persons usually seek help from lawyers, namely: state registration of Acts of civil status (birth, death), obtaining permits for the transportation of a minor child through the contact line or the state border, the procedure for registering an inheritance in the territory under Ukraine’s control.
Also during the event, the participants of the training were provided with up-to-date information on the specifics of crossing the line of delineation, destination and payment of social assistance, acting programs and projects aimed at assisting displaced persons. All those present received booklets with detailed explanations of these issues.
It should be noted that the seminar was held in the form of a dialogue and lively discussion, because all the issues that were considered are really painful for LTSNU teachers who are already in the third year of forced evacuation.
