Installation of the Interactive Whiteboard

The technically complicated installation of the interactive whiteboard was held in the Information Resource Center “Window on America” at LTSNU.

Window on America is created on the basis of partnership between the US Government and Ukrainian educational institutions and with the support of the press, education and culture department of the US Embassy in Kyiv. In 2015, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University joined the project and provided the premises with the purpose of equipping the Center – the only one on the territory of the Luhansk region.

Introduction of innovative technologies in the educational process improves the quality of education in our University, because modern information equipment opens up new opportunities for organizing educationalad research activities.

The interactive board works on the latest tangent DViT technology, which allows four users to work simultaneously on the entire surface of the board independently. It has great potential for organizing the educational process. With its help, it is possible to use a wide variety of materials simultaneously including image, sound, video, and text. One can hold non-standard and individual lessons with the help of tactile control of the interactive whiteboard.

The interactive board displays the process of teaching a foreign language to a qualitatively new level, because pre-prepared thematic texts, illustrations, audio and video materials serve as a support for phonetic and speech warm-up, and also contribute to improving the reading and listening skills of foreign speech, control and self-control of knowledge.

One can work both in a large audience and in small groups using the interactive whiteboard. This modern audiovisual training tool will help diversify classes: a teacher can give a lecture using text, audio and video materials, DVD, CD-ROM and Internet resources simultaneously. The software allows writing and making notes on top of all kinds of documents, diagrams and web pages. Any information displayed on the interactive whiteboard can be printed, saved, sent by e-mail and posted on the site.
