Ukrainian Championship

Athletes of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports adequately presented their higher education institution at the Powerlifting Championship of Ukraine.
In the city of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk region, from February 25 to March 1 the Ukrainian National Powerlifting Championship was held. The teacher of the Department of Sport Disciplines MSU Volodymyr Dubovy took the third place in the weight category up to 83 kg. In the sum of three exercises, he scored 742.5 kg. Also, among his achievements is the third place in squatting – 312.5 kg.
The master student majoring in “Olympic and Professional Sports”, IMSU Mykola Barannik (the sum of triathlon is 800 kg) became the champion of Ukraine in the category up to 74 kg (squat – 302.5 kg (1 place), press – 220 kg (1), thrust – 277.5 Kg (4)). This result allowed him to take the third place in the absolute standings among all the sportsmen of the Championship.
The results of the 2016 sports year were also summed up. According to results of performances at the international competitions, our three athletes entered the top ten powerlifters of Ukraine. They are the senior teacher of the Department of Sport Disciplines, Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine Dmytro Semenenko; master students majoring in “Olympic and Professional Sports” Oleksii Bychkov (Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine) and Mykola Barannik (Master of Sports of International Class).
The Assistant Professor of the Department “Olympic and Professional Sports” Volodymyr Sayenko was recognized as one of the best coaches of the year.
