I stage of All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad

On March 2, the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology hosted the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Social Pedagogy.

The manager and organizer of the Olympiad was a Ph.D., Assistant Professor of the Department of Social Pedagogy Natalya P. Krasnova.

The competition was attended by students 1 – 4 courses of specialties “Social work. Social pedagogy. Practical Psychology “,” Social pedagogy. Practical Psychology “and” Social Work “.

The event was opened by Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor D.V. Uzhchenko, who noted the importance of students’ victories in the Olympiad in their personal and professional development; the value of highly qualified specialists in the sphere of social reform of society and the state.

The Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Olena L. Karaman congratulated the participants of the Olympiad on a solemn event in the life of the University and noted that students of the specialty “Social Pedagogy” have been taken prize-winning places in the II stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad for many years, glorifying the University and the Department Of Social Pedagogy. Despite the temporary evacuation of the University, the Department of Social Pedagogy remains the leader of social-pedagogical education and science in Ukraine, because it created a powerful scientific school under the guidance of the Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor S.Y. Kharchenko.

Also Olena L. Karaman presented the jury: the chairman – Head of the Department of Social Pedagogy, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor S.Y. Kharchenko; members – Candidates of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professors N.P. Krasnova, N.L. Otroshchenko, O.I. Maltseva, Y.I. Yurkiv, V.I. Stepanenko.

Olympiad tasks were aimed at solving both theoretical and practical problems of social pedagogy.

The brightest were answers of the 4th year student Oleg Chernysh (research advisor is N.L. Otroshchenko); 3rd year student Kateryna Evonova (research advisor is N.P. Krasnova); 2nd year student Hanna Verkhovod (research advisor is Y.I. Yurkiv) and 2nd year student Anastasia Niziyova (research advisor is V.I. Stepanenko).

The first and second-year students discovered the interesting world of the social teacher profession, got experience in competitive events.

The results of the Olympiad will be announced on 07.03.2017.

The winners will take part in the II stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Social Pedagogy to be held in H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University from April 13 to April 14, 2017.
