Training in the First Aid School
3.3.2017
Teachers of LTSNU continue their education at the First Aid School.
Increasing risks and natural hazards of technological and political nature, rescue operations, experience shows that the most promising and effective line of action is to actively engage the population in the process of preparing for emergencies. People must learn to prevent, counteract and overcome the consequences of emergencies. It is very important in this context to teach people first aid skills.
Training for teachers and staff continues at LTSNU in order to increase public awareness and formation of practical skills of rendering medical first aid. The event is supported by the Maltese Aid Service, the Centre for Psychosocial Adaptation and the Student Social Service of our University. On February 24, teachers and masters of industrial training of Starobilsk Department of the Regional Center for Professional Education of LTSNU trained.
The main skill is removing psychological barrier when making a decision: “Why me?” To give first aid or not?” One more important thing – providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Participants worked at skills on a mannequin, which was an important condition for the practical consolidation of acquired knowledge, as the muscle memory is laid and even people under stress can still help.
Teachers of the Regional Center for Professional Education gained practical skills in bandaging in case of traumatic situations, learned the technique for chest compressions, received the knowledge of the anti-shock therapy, and a stable position on the side.
