The Academic Council Meeting

LTSNU held a joint meeting of the Academic Council and the Conference of the Labor Collective.

The agenda addressed three main issues:

• Report of the Rector of LTSNU.
• Celebration of the 96th anniversary of the University foundation.
• Awarding honorary titles of “Honorary Professor of LTSNU”, “Honorary Worker of LTSNU” and awarding of “Honorary Diploma of LTSNU”.

The Chairman of the Supervisory Council of LTSNU Vitalii S. Kurylo congratulated teachers, staff and students. During the years of staying in the city of Starobilsk, the labor collective of the University continues to work effectively. Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University continues training activities, acquiring new victories and achievements. It is necessary to continue the fruitful work, glorifying the name of native Alma Mater.

The Chairman of Starobilsk District Administration A.I. Garkavy and the secretary of Starobilsk City Council Y.M. Litvinova (the graduate of our University) congratulated teachers and students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. Guests congratulated those present on the foundation of LTSNU and thanked the staff of the educational institution for their contribution to the development of the scientific potential of our region.

During the reporting period, 64 certificates of accreditation were received in 32 specialties and directions. The specialty 201 “Agronomy” (Bachelor and Magistracy) and the postgraduate study in 13 specialties were licensed.

In 2016, there was continued the work on the development and improvement of the information support of the educational process: was developed its own platform “Electronic University” in the Ukrainian segment of cyberspace, which provides support for the educational process at the University based on information technologies of training – creation and holding computer tests on client-server technology.

At the University were held scientific conferences of various levels: 8 international, 19 Ukrainian and 16regional.

With the assistance of the Centre for International and Educative Work in the academic year 2015-2016 it was signed 3 agreements with universities of Poland and Georgia on cooperation in the fields of educational, scientific and cultural activities and the implementation of specific research projects within the framework of ERASMUS program.

In 2016, the University became the co-executor of four international grants, scientific and educational projects and programs. The team of scientific and teaching staff of the University headed by Rector had an internship at the University of Cambridge.

In March 2016, the innovative achievements of the University in the field of education and science were presented at the VII International Exhibition “Modern Educational Establishments – 2016”. Here the University received four awards: two gold medals; the Certificate of quality of scientific publications (results of an independent examination of MES); Honorary Diploma “For courage and dedication in preserving the creative achievements of national education in the conditions of military aggression.”

Among miscellaneous, it was recommended to publish a collection of scientific works “Visnyk of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”, the educational and methodical complex “Social Work Technology”. The work of fellows of the academic scholarship was found to be satisfactory.

At a meeting of the Academic Council on the basis of a secret ballot, it was decided to assign honors and awards. The title “Best Student of LTSNU” was awarded to the master student of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications Y.O. Dubova.

The title of “Honorary Professor of LTSNU” was awarded to the Professor of the Department of World History and International Relations V.G. Kryukov; Head of Department of Preschool and Primary Education N.I. Chervyakova and Associate Professor, Department of Geography O.O. Kiseleva.

The title of “Honorary Worker of LTSNU” was awarded to the chief mechanic of the administrative and economic part Y.P. Shelyakin and the Chairman of the Primary Trade Union Organization V.P. Moroz.

The Head of the Department of Ukrainian Philology and General Linguistics K.D. Gluhovtseva; the leading specialist of the Department of Postgraduate Study L.P. Zelenska and Associate Professor of the Department of World History and International Relations A.V. Naboka were awarded with “Honorary Diploma of LTSNU” for conscientious work, high professionalism, high quality training, personal contribution to the development of national education, outstanding achievements in the organization of educational activities and on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the University foundation.  

In addition, teachers and staff were awarded with Diplomas of Starobilsk District Administration, Starobilsk City Council, Luhansk Regional Organization of Trade Union, Department of Education and Science of Luhansk Regional Military and Civil Administration and Diplomas of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
