Women and Football

The festival of women’s football was held in Severodonetsk in the Professional Building Lyceum.

It was attended by schoolgirls from schools number 11, 12 and 13 of the cities of Severodonetsk, Lysychansk and Privolie. The festival organizers were Football Women Association of Luhansk region, which decided to modify the format of the event, designed to promote the popularization of Olympic sport – women’s football among the younger generation of Luhansk region. It was decided to divide the format of the festival into two components.

The first one took place in the Assembly Hall of the Lyceum. The Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports of LTSNU, chairman of the regional organization of sport society “Spartak” Yuri Polulyaschenko addressed a welcoming speech. A student of the Lugansk football Alyona Kovtun, who now plays in Poland, wished the participants to become new football stars of Luhansk region.

After a short lecture on the history of women’s football in the world and in the Luhansk region was held the traditional quiz to consolidate the acquired knowledge. The prize from the President of the Association of the mixed and women’s football in Ukraine Oleksiy Malevants was given to Arina Ivannnikova from Lysychansk.

In the second part, schoolgirls tried their hand at football. The mini-tournament with the participation of six teams was held in the sports hall of the Building Lyceum.

All the participants received prizes from the regional organization “Spartak”, the Regional Committee for Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports.

According to the IPES
