Students of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports majoring in “Human Health” took part in the webinar “Prevention of drug use among children and young people.”
Online seminar was organized on February 13 by the Information resource “Knowledge Center”. The purpose of the webinar – the development of professional competence of the participants in the field of prevention of drug use among children and youth.
The seminar speaker was Oksana R. Pridatko – psychologist, psychotherapist, leading specialist of the Kyiv city narcological clinical hospital (KCNCH “Sociotherapy”), the therapist of European (EAP) and the World Confideration for Physical Therapy (the WSPT), which has 30 years of experience in narcology, counseling of persons using drugs, as well as their co-dependent relatives.
The following issues were discussed during the webinar:
- risk factors for the development of drug addiction;
- types of psychoactive substances and the consequences of their use;
- common symptoms of substance use;
- drug prevention structure.
The seminar aroused a genuine interest of students, which is displayed in the active discussion. Participants noted the relevance of the issues and put forward a proposal to hold such events more often.
