State Certification of Master Students

In late January, the Department of Geography held the state certification of master students majoring in “Geography”, whose period of training was 1.5 years.
As always, most of the master’s theses was devoted to the topical aspects of spatial development of Luhansk region and its individual regions. Master students presented the State Attestation Commission scientific reports and presentations, demonstrated a high level of scientific and special research methods.
The State Attestation Commission appreciated master’s works and defense by Viktoria Fomenko (theme “Socio-geographical aspects of the development of peripheral areas (on the example of Belovodsk district of Luhansk region)”), Olena Linnik (“Historical and cultural framework of the northern part of the Luhansk region”) and Ludmila Denishchenko (“Ecological and geographical aspects of land use in the northern part of Luhansk region”). Teachers congratulated all graduates on the successful defense.
Also students-geographers (2-4 years) and the first-year master students came to the city of Kreminna in order to start the second semester. During the session, the teachers of the Department conducted lectures and consultation, held a conference on pedagogical practice for the forth-year students and a conference on scientific and pedagogical practice for the first-year master students.
The master students majoring in “Earth Science” began the assistant practice and got the first experience of lectures and practical classes for the second-year students.
A pleasant surprise for students was a meeting with representatives of the dean’s office of the Faculty of Natural Sciences. The Dean, Deputy Deans For Academic, Social and Humanitarian Work, secretaries attended the session, held a meeting, congratulated students, talked about some of innovations of scholarships accrual and about the organization features of educational process in the second semester. During the communication, they outlined a program of joint activities to the next (spring) session.
In general, teachers and students stay in the city of Kreminna was very productive and left pleasant memories.
