Honorary Title of Sports

Graduates of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports were awarded with the honorary title of sports – “Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine in Powerlifting.”

The graduate majoring in “Physical Education”, senior lecturer of the Department of Sports Disciplines of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports Dmytro Semenenko and the master student majoring in “Physical Culture and Sports” Oleksii Bychkov received the honorary title “Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine in Powerlifting”. This is a high rank for every athlete!

Our lifters deserved this title thanking to their successful performances as members of the national team of Ukraine in the international arena. They have already added their names to the glorious history of the national powerlifting twice in a row at the World Championships, bringing the country’s team to the highest step of the podium. At the same time the performances of our athletes, as always, were bright and spectacular, and accompanied by the establishment of world records in their respective weight categories.

Today Oleksii Bychkov (trainers: I.V. Zbandut – honored coach of Ukraine, V.G. Saenko – Associate Professor of the Department of Olympic and Professional Sports of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports) – the leader of the national team of Ukraine in powerlifting. He is a double World Champion and European Champion in the weight category up to 120 kg with the sum of triathlon of 1125 kg!

Dmytro Semenenko (trainers: A.V. Ivzhenko – international master of sports of Ukraine, S.N. Galiy – Honored coach of Ukraine, Head of the Department of Sports Disciplines of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports) seven times held the Ukrainian flag high above his head, standing on the highest step of the podium. 417.5 kg in the squat! This is a world record in the weight category up to 105 kg. And it belongs to our sportsman!

As a result of performances at the World Championships, both our powerlifters together with another master student majoring in “Physical Culture and Sport, Sports”, international master of sports of Ukraine Mykola Barannik won a license to participate in the World Games to be held from July 20 to 30, 2017 in Wroclaw, Poland.

We congratulate our heroes on being awarded the high title and wish them strength and inspiration to conquer all the desired sports and life tops!
