The Memory Lesson
20.1.2017
The University College hosted a memory lesson, dedicated to the Ukrainian Unity Day.
The Ukrainian Unity Day is a holiday that is forever memorialized in the history of the development of our country. On January 22, 1919 at the Sofia Square in Kyiv was held the event, which became a symbol of unity and invincibility of the spirit and belief in our own victory – union of Ukrainian People’s Republic and the Western Ukrainian People’s Republic. Despite the age-old conflict and imperial ambitions of the invaders, the Ukrainian people proved that the identity and national dignity are key positions to create their own independent state.
In order to consolidate students around the idea of the unity of the state, education of patriotism and pride for the heroic past and the present the memory lesson “Thorny Paths to the Catholicity” took place at the College of LTSNU. The teacher of the structural subdivision V.S. Tihanova organized it.
The event was attended by the Director of the College N.V. Motunova and the Deputy Director for training and production work V.P. Golovina, who evaluated the preparation of the holiday and noted that the active college students are the creators of the future of our state.
The lesson was permeated with patriotism and pride for the heroic pages of Ukrainian history. Students prepared appropriate decoration of the room, creative performances and musical accompaniment, which helped achieve a solemn atmosphere.
At the beginning of the event, those present sang the Ukraine’s state anthem and observed a minute of silence the heroes who died for the freedom of our country. The logical continuation of the holiday was the performance of the students of poetry and watching movies devoted to the formation of Ukrainian statehood.
The real apogee of the lesson was the dance “Palala” in the performance of students. Vigorous movements and sense of beauty have left no one indifferent, and instilled confidence in the bright future of our country.
N.V. Motunova greeted all those present. She thanked students and spoke about the importance of the Ukrainian Unity Day as a holiday that brings together millions of Ukrainians, regardless of their geographical location.
History of Ukraine is individuals, outstanding events that have played a key role in the formation of the national identity. The Ukrainian Unity Day is a symbol of unity, which is extremely important in today’s realities.
