The Meeting of the University Administration

The regular meeting of the University Administration was held at LTSNU.

The agenda included two major issues:

  • the state and prospects of development of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts;
  • the state and prospects of development of the Faculty of Foreign Languages.

I.O. Stashevska spoke about the status and prospects of the development of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture And Arts. Having heard and discussed the report of the Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts, the University Administration mentioned that the Institute provided training in seven specialties in three educational and qualification levels.

Due to purposeful career guidance work in Luhansk, Donetsk, Poltava, Zaporizhzia, Dnepropetrovsk and Lviv regions in 2016, the enrollment at the Institute improved compared with the previous year.

The scientific results of teachers of the Institute in the past academic year was the holding of many international and All-Ukrainian scientific events, including the annual International Scientific-Practical Conference “Art Education in the Context of Globalization and Multi-Culturalism”, the Ukrainian Conference of Young Scientists “Art Education and Aesthetic Education of Youth”, the Regional Scientific-Practical Conference “The Creative Search in the Arts and Arts Education: Tradition, Modernity and Perspectives”.

They defended doctoral and candidate’s theses. There was the publication of the collection of scientific works “Visnyk of LTSNU: Pedagogical Sciences (Art Education: Theory, History, Practice)”. Teachers participated in 13 scientific and scientific-practical conferences of different levels.

The results of the organization of the student scientific work is publication of articles and theses, publication of the collection of scientific works of young scientists “Art Education and Aesthetic Education of Youth.” The students took part in the second round of Ukrainian Olympiad in Cultural and Fine Arts.

Ongoing the scientific and creative collaboration of teachers of the Institute with the Jan Kochanowski University (Kielce, Poland); Music Academy of the University of East Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina); Pomeranian Academy (Slupsk, Poland), the Academy of Ignatianum (Krakow, Poland).

The success of students was confirmed by their victories in the All-Ukrainian and International creative contests in Ukraine and abroad: Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Uzhgorod, Nezhyn, Solec-Zdroj. Students-bayanists of the ICA participated in the IV International Marathon of Bayan and Accordion Music in Kiev. The authority of teachers is proved by invitations them to work as members of the jury at the All-Ukrainian and International creative contests and chairmen of the state examination commissions in art colleges.

Despite significant advances in the activities of the Institute, there are some difficulties to be resolved.

I.M. Karpenko spoke about the status and prospects of development of the Faculty of Foreign Languages. Having heard and discussed the report of the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, the University Administration noted that the learning process in the structural subdivision is organized according to the existing curricula and approved schedules of the educational process. In the academic year2016 – 2017, there was a gradual increase in the contingent of students, some of whom are representatives of foreign states.

In April 2016 at the Faculty was held the VI International Scientific-Practical Conference “Ukraine-China: Dialogue of Cultures” and the International Scientific-Practical Conference “Modern Trends of Oriental Studies”, which resulted in the publication of the collection of materials.

With the purpose of advertising and career guidance teachers visited schools in Poltava, Luhansk and Donetsk regions, held a few Open Days (February, March, April, November, December). Faculty participated in the presentation of exhibitions “The Poltava Applicant – 2016” and “The Poltava Applicant – 2017”.

Educational activities at the Faculty takes place in cooperation with the Poltava Regional Scientific Library named after I. Kotlyarevsky, Poltava Regional Academic Ukrainian Theatre of Musical Drama named after Mykola Gogol, Regional Department of Culture, etc.  Students attend theatrical performances, concerts, exhibitions, museums; took part in the celebration of the City Day, the International Day of Peace, Student Day, Day of Ukrainian Cossacks and the Ukrainian Written Language Day, book presentations of Luhansk and Poltava writers and journalists.

Among the promising areas of activity of the Faculty is a gradual increase in the contingent of students by promoting advertising and career guidance services in the new regions, inviting new experienced teachers of English, French, German, Spanish, as well as the intensification of scientific-research work of students, increase in the number of involved persons in the preparation of research projects, participation in contests and olympiads.

The University Administration noted some problems in the activities of the Faculty, the solution of which will improve the efficiency of the educational process.
