Memorandum of Cooperation

On December 15, the Memorandum of Cooperation between our University and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University was signed.
In the period from December 12 to 16, 2016, the representative of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University in the person of the Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Trade, Customer Services and Tourism Viktor P. Drel visited Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
During the visit was a number of meetings with the Administration of the University (the Rector of BSRSU Merab Khalvashi, the Vice-Rector Inga Shamilishvili, the Dean of the Tourism Faculty Rostom Beridze), as well as teachers and students of the University.
They agreed issues of mutually beneficial partnership and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between LTSNU and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The document opens up prospects for successful implementation of student exchange programs and joint research and educational projects. As a result, our University will have a unique opportunity to train highly qualified specialists in the field of tourism, hotel industry, landscape management and a whole range of other specialties.
In addition to the practical component, new opportunities in the development of scientific research through the organization of joint conferences, seminars, training courses and summer schools on the development of the hotel and tourism industry in Ukraine and Georgia will appear.
The Tourism Faculty of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and the Educational and Research Institute of Trade, Customer Services and Tourism of LTSNU plan to hold the first joint summer school in 2017 within the framework of the Memorandum, with the participation of students from Georgia, Ukraine and the United States.
Thus, the university students receive a unique opportunity to internship in Batumi (Adzharia), one of the most dynamically developing regions in the field of tourism industry of Georgia.
Based on the materials of the ER ITCST
