Students congratulated children on the Day of St. Nicholas.
Winter holidays are an important component of the unity of generations, reverence of centuries-old traditions of creating a state, becoming shades of awesomeness and mystery. The adults and children are looking forward to them. This festive winter begins on December 19 when we celebrate St. Nicholas Day – a traditional holiday that is the personification of faith, the development of folk arts and crafts in Ukraine. The deep religious roots and features of celebration of this event by our ancestors constitute the modern realities celebration customs.
Traditionally, on the eve of this Day the children write letters with their wishes, that becomes a good form of worship of family values and the development of relations between parents. An essential attribute of the holiday is sweets and gifts.
Volunteering is an important activity direction of the active students of our University. On the Day of St. Nicholas, students of LTSNU visited the Center for Psychosocial Adaptation and congratulated children on the holiday.
The festive day began with a master class on making Christmas gifts and charms, which caused excitement and interest of children and their parents. Children learned to make gifts with their hands, and the Center staff provided helpful tips and recommendations.
The continuation of the event was the performance in which the traditional struggle between good and evil was. The angel, the demon, the girl Alice, sun, water, earth, and St. Nicholas – all these characters embodied the childhood dreams, giving the incredible joy of the audience. Children with fantastic characters went in search of a magical flower in order to give it the most welcome guest of the holiday.
The children performed a dance together, took part in the festive competitions and saw that the unity and sense of purpose are the key to success and victory.
At the end of the holiday, children and parents took photos with the fairy tale characters and expressed hope for a holiday repetition next year.
