Scientific-Methodological Seminar

The Department of Pre-School and Primary Education held the scientific seminar, where participants discussed problems of the primary school reform.

On December 16, the event took place in the framework of the scientific-methodical seminar “Modern Primary School – a Space of Educational Opportunities for Younger Pupils.” The Rector of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University Serhii V. Savchenko and the Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology Olena L. Karaman greeted the participants.

The leading specialists of the Department in conjunction with practicing teachers and future professionals in the field of primary education discussed the major changes occurred in primary education.

The reports “Trends of Modern Elementary School” (N.I. Chervyakova), “Update of Primary School – the Essence of Reforms” (S.A.Bader), “Use of Media Education in Primary Schools as a Requirement of Our Time” (O.A. Kravchishina) called the sincere interest of the audience.

The participants were able to express their own opinion about the educational innovations and to discuss practical aspects of implementation of the new Ukrainian school concept.

The final stage of the seminar was the drafting of a collective Mind Map on the issue of reforms in the elementary school. The department staff also presented a digest on the designated problem for practicing teachers and students.

The seminar organizers are grateful for the cooperation with the administration of Starobilsk Specialized Comprehensive School of I-III stages number 3 and Starobilsk School number 2.
