Participation in the Dictation Writing

Students of LTSNU participated in the dictation writing, dedicated to the closing the Year of the English language in Ukraine.

Given the role of English as an international language of communication, in order to facilitate its study, to expand citizens’ access to the global economic, social, educational and cultural opportunities, according to the Presidential Decree 2016 was declared the Year of English language in Ukraine.

Teachers of LTSNU direct efforts at enhancing students learning English, understanding the importance of education in ensuring Ukraine’s integration into European political, economic and scientific space. For this purpose, a senior lecturer at the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology L.A. Okunkova held a dictation, which was attended by 50 first-year students who learn English language for the professional direction.

The students listened to the text and then started to write the work. The dictation topic was dedicated to winter holidays, which are welcome and desirable for each of us. The participants were able to test their knowledge of a foreign language once again and to reflect on the role of self-development and self-education in their lives.

In general, students showed a good level of knowledge of the English language, focused on the traditions and celebrations of the international community and made sure that the event is a prerequisite for integration into European society.
