As you know 2016 was declared the year of the English language in Ukraine. That is why a lot of interesting things associated with English language had been carried down both in the country and in our department there. PhD, Associate Professor Svetlana O. Shehavtsova the Head of the Roman and Germanic Philology Department congratulated our students. She spoke about the year which had gone in our department and how much it had been done to us. It was also mentioned how successfully teachers and students participated in the trainings which were organized by the British Council in order to improve their methodological skills in teaching English. But the most important was to remind students the value of English language in life. After all, English is useful in all professional fields. Finally Mrs. Shehavtsova wished success to the students in writing an English dictation.
Writing dictation on the topic “Cultural diplomacy” was successful. All students achieved a good progress. Thus, they could not only test their own level of English, but also to learn new, interesting and useful information about the culture of diplomacy.
At the end of the event it was made a collective photo, where the students showed their bright smiles with the just written dictations in their hands.
Though the end of the year is nearby in the Faculty of Foreign Languages such informative, instructive and useful activities will conduct again and again.
