Training in the First Aid School

Teachers and staff of LNU continue education in the First Aid School.
Taking into account increasing risks and natural, technological and political hazards, the experience of rescue operations shows that the most promising and effective line of action is to engage population in the process of preparing for emergencies. The population should learn to prevent, counteract and overcome the consequences of emergencies. It is very important in this context to teach people first aid skills.
Teachers and staff of LTSNU continue to lean in order to increase public awareness and formation of practical skills of providing first aid. The event is supported by the Maltese Aid Service, the Centre for Psychosocial Adaptation and the Student Social Service of our University.
The main skill – removing psychological barrier when making a decision “Why me?”, “Give or not?” and providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The participants worked skills on a mannequin, which was an important condition for the practical consolidation of acquired knowledge, as is laid muscle memory and even people under stress can still help.
The staff and teachers of the University received practical skills in bandaging in case of traumatic situations, got acquainted with the technique of chest compressions, acquired knowledge of the anti-shock position and the stable position on the side.
