Meeting with OSCE Representatives

A meeting of students with representatives of OSCE Monitoring Mission took place at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine is the unarmed civilian observers who temporarily monitor and report on the situation on human rights throughout the territory of Ukraine.

The purpose of the Monitoring Mission is gathering information, fact-finding and reporting security situation. The authority of the CMM does not include drawing conclusions or conducting any investigation. The representatives of the Monitoring Mission communicate with different groups of society, in particular representatives of the authorities at all levels, civil society, ethnic and religious groups and local communities.

Interaction with the international organizations opens up new possibilities in the activities of the educational institution, ensures the development of quality education and introduction of innovative technologies in the educational process. The active dialogue with representatives of the international community allows students to acquire experience in human rights, ways to overcome the armed conflict, creates competitive and competent professionals.

During the meeting with students of the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations, Social and Political Sciences and the Institute of Economics and Business, the representatives of the OSCE Monitoring Mission told about the history of the organization founding, structure, activities and features of work in Ukraine. The observers emphasized that the Monitoring Mission adheres to the principles of objectivity, which is a necessary condition for the organization of effective interaction between the parties to the conflict.

Representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission demonstrated their protective equipment, which plays an important role in preserving the life and health of the observers, and photos, which clearly reflect the conditions of their work in eastern Ukraine. OSCE observers monitor the living conditions of persons living in a war zone, as well as study the humanitarian situation throughout Ukraine.

At the end of the meeting, students asked questions to representatives of the international organization regarding the employment conditions, the causes of the mission and conflicts, which were attended by OSCE observers.

The active cooperation with international organizations plays an important role in the activities of the University to promote the recognition of the institution on the international level and to improve the quality of education.
