A New Specialty is Opened

Good news for the university applicants – a new interesting specialty is opened at the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
The Department of the Faculty of Biology received a license of the MES to provide higher education on the specialty 201 “Agronomy”.
From September 1, 2017, the Department will train specialists on this specialty on educational and qualification levels of Bachelor and Master.
According to modern experts, one of the ways of economic breakthrough of modern Ukraine is the development of agricultural production and agricultural business. The basis for the agricultural sector is agronomy. In our opinion, this specialty in the near future will be in high demand in the labor market in our region and in Ukraine in general.
The professional activity of specialists with agronomy qualification has ample opportunities for employment. Graduates will be able to work agronomists in the key sectors of agriculture (crop production, vegetable growing, fruit growing, forage production, plant protection, etc.), agriculturists-inspectors, agronomists of the farms, agronomists, technologists of the agricultural enterprises for the production and storage of crop production, managers, consultants, representatives of marketing firms of the agrarian market, advisers agronomy. The Master courses graduates can become heads of structural divisions of the various levels, agronomists, agricultural managers, leading agronomists, advisers, experts in agronomy, heads of agricultural enterprises, farm managers; research staff in the field of agriculture; teachers of specialized disciplines in higher education.
Since the next academic year, training on this specialty will be carried out on the full-time and part-time (distance) forms of education. The term of study at Bachelor is 4 years (based on the junior specialist degree – 2 years), at the Master’s courses – 1.5 years.
The educational process on the specialty “Agronomy” will be provided by experienced and highly qualified teachers, including academicians, professors and associate professors of the leading Departments of the Faculty. The studies will be held in the lecture and specialized classrooms with modern equipment and multimedia equipment. The professional workshops and training practices will take place in the specialized teaching and research university bases in Starobilsk area.
It is important to note that the postgraduate specialty “Agronomy” already exists at the Department of Biology. In 2016, the first enrollment was carried out for the full-time and part-time forms of education.
