The 4-day scientific-practical conference at the University of Cambridge completed.
On December 1, the last day of online conference “Modern University Embracing Change” at the University of Cambridge ended. The conference was held in the framework of the Programme of the Leadership Development Programme (in the partnership with Institute of Higher Education of the NAES of Ukraine, British Council Ukraine and Leadership Foundation for Higher Education, UK).
As a result of this program it is expected to achieve the following results:
- Creation of “agents of change” national network – specialists ready to implement innovative changes in their institutions of higher education;
- Implementation of 40 intercollegiate partnership exchanges between universities of Ukraine and the United Kingdom;
- Introduction of mechanisms for dissemination, cooperation and exchange of good practice to develop leadership capacities of universities;
- The effective application of leadership potential of “agents of change” in the system of higher education or a single institution through the recognition of their status and improvement of the University indicators of the achievements;
- A clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities under the expanded autonomy of the university through the update strategy.
The last day of the conference was no less intense than the previous. Among the issues that were discussed that day were as follows:
- Discussion of the study: The reform of higher education in Ukraine;
- Teaching and learning in higher education;
- Contribution of University Development Strategy: Development Strategy International University;
- Contribution to the development strategy of the University: Writing a grant application.
Ruslan Romanov made the report “e-Learning Technologies” for the teachers. He spoke about the distance learning at the Open University of Great Britain, the history of its creation, showed pages of websites.
The main result of the visit of our teachers in Cambridge became the effective exchange of professional knowledge and practical experience in initiating and consistent implementation of the system changes. Experience of dialogue with scientists from the UK is not only the study of the best practices of university management, leadership, and education reform, and it is useful for the introduction of some modern approaches to learning at our university.
