Participation in the Integration Event

The university students took part in an integration event – the master class “Our Rights: Study and Application in the Community.”

The integration event – master class “Our Rights: Study and Application in the Community” was held with the aim of spreading knowledge about social human rights. The students of specialty “Social Work” of  Institute of History, International Relations and Social and Political Sciences, as well as students of other educational institutions of Starobilsk district and the city of Severodonetsk participated in the event.

This event was initiated by the Department of Social Work and the project of the Council of Europe “Strengthening the Protection of Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons in Ukraine.” “My friends, today you have come to the master class, which is important for all citizens, especially for young people. After all, in order to grow a strong and prosperous country, we should pay considerable attention to social policy.” – The Head of the Department of Social Work K.V. Ignatenko appealed to the participants with a welcoming speech.

Participants were able to play a board educational game “Country of Dignity”, which was aimed at the conscious acceptance of rights and the search for ways to implement them. “It was interesting to play a game, imagine being a member of the parliament. It was cool to think that your decision – a strategy that you choose can affect social policy, albeit fictional, but the whole country! “- the second-year student Oleksandr shared his impressions.

It has also become urgent to inform young people about the structure and values of the Council of Europe, goals and objectives of the organization, human rights and the existing opportunities for young people today.

The experience and existing achievements were presented by guests of the integration events – public organizations that have experience in implementation of various projects, such as the Center for Psychosocial Adaptation, Severodonetsk Youth Council, Sport Amateur Association “Adamant”, NGO “Effective Community”, and Lugansk Regional Library named after Gorky. In general, the students’ participation in the training developed positive emotions; they expressed their thoughts about their vision of the future, gained knowledge about the opportunities to participate in training programs and public associations.

According to the IHIRSPS
