Day of Dignity and Freedom
21.11.2016
Students and teachers of LTSNU celebrated the Day of Dignity and Freedom.
Ukraine is an area of freedom and dignity. Two revolutions – Maidan 2004, which was a holiday of freedom, and the Revolution of 2013 – the Revolution of Dignity made our country so.
The 21st of November is an opportunity to honor all those who with their lives, their strength, patience and faith in the victory of justice upheld and continue to uphold the dignity of the Ukrainian nation, its freedom.
Today LTSNU held a rally in honor of the Day of Dignity and Freedom. Teachers and students gathered at the stand-memorial to heroes of Starobilsk killed in ATO. Here the participants again remembered the events, during which Ukrainians had demonstrated their European features and dignity.
During the meeting, the Rector of the University S.V.Savchenko delivered a speech. He said that it all started with the students and the knowledge that we are one people, one nation. “Without freedom, for which we are fighting, there will be no future for each of us individually, none of the country as a whole”, – Serhii Viktorovych said.
The event was attended by the guests of honor, including the participant of the hostilities in the ATO zone V.V. Malakhov, the soldier of the military forces of Ukraine, the captain M.M.Fedoruk and the volunteer member of the Maidan V.A.Vinnik. “It is up to you and your actions determine the future of the country”, – V.V.Malahov stressed. He assured that we would win in the struggle for victory.
The student dean of the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Social and Political Sciences Anastasia Rudneva addressed to all those present on behalf of the students. “Nothing falls from the sky for a reason and we need to work very hard to create that country, for which we are fighting today. It may be hard for us, but we must remember that work is always rewarded. I believe, I know that one morning we all wake up in a peaceful country and come back home – in Donetsk and Luhansk,” – the student said.
The flowers were laid to the stand-memorial in memory of the nationwide heroes who died in the ATO zone for freedom and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and the memory of all the fallen heroes of the Maidan and warriors-defenders was honored by a moment of silence.
Freedom for each person is something that belongs to us from birth, and no one has the right to take it from us against our will.
