Issues of Interaction

Students of Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College discussed the issues of cooperation with law enforcement officers.

The extremely interesting topic for college students was suggested by the Head of the Department of Political Science and Law of the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations, Social and Political Sciences, Doctor of Political Sciences, Associate Professor Valery Arkhipov, who is the Regional Coordinator of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in Luhansk region.

Who are the police officers? What is the law? What to do in dangerous situations and how to avoid them? How to protect yourself when, to whom and how to ask for help? Students spoke about these and many other important issues during the meeting.

During the interesting conversation was showed the cartoon “You and the Police,” the heroes of the cartoon: a teenager Vas-Vas, his older sister and a cat Pashtet tell about interaction with the police on their own specific examples. The film is designed for teenagers aged 16-17, as well as for all stakeholders who wish to improve their legal awareness in situations of communication with law enforcement agencies. It covers the most common situations that may face the child in his dealings with the police and has six typical stories: “Open up! Police!”, “Present your Passport! Turn out the Pockets!”, “Urgent Come to the Investigator!”, “You are detained for an administrative offense”, “Police Brutality.”

The meeting was very useful. The conclusion arises by itself – you need to know the laws, your rights and responsibilities, and to remember that the active cooperation with the police is the key to the quiet and good future.
