Participation in the Scientific Conference

Students of LTSNU took part in the Regional Conference.

The second-year students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Olga Korinska, Tetiana Krivoguzova and Anastasia Dotsenko participated in the XI Regional Scientific Conference of students, master students, postgraduate students “Actual problems of Communicative and Professional Competence: Linguistic and Socio-Cultural Aspects”, which was held on November 10, 2016 at the Department of Business Foreign Language of Poltava University of Economics and Trade. During the conference, results of the research of students, master students, and postgraduate students on topical issues of economics, linguistics, translation studies, literary studies, and intercultural communication were discussed and the ways of using foreign languages in the future professional activity were demonstrated.

Students from Ukraine, the USA, India, Pakistan and the countries of the African continent presented their research at the conference. Our young researchers prepared and made reports at the section “Problems and Perspectives of Linguistics and Translation Studies” under the guidance of the head of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Svitlana V. Perova.

Their reports were: “Problems and Principles of Interjections Translation” (Olga Korinska), “Problems of Translation of Ukrainian Ethnic Lexemes” (Tetiana Krivoguzova),” Changing Gender Roles in the Ukrainian and English Folk Tales “(Anastasia Dotsenko). The works of our students were of great interest and caused a lively discussion among those present.
