University Started the Entrance Campaign

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University has held an Applicant Day for the first time in the evacuation period.

The university pushed the door open already not in Luhansk, though. Meeting with intending graduates was on Saturday, January 17, in Starobilsk where the university is registered now, – it was told at LNU.

“The first Open Day became a sort of the start of entrance campaign 2015”, – noted the executive secretary of Entrance Committee Yaroslava Yurkiv. We told about the changes to the entrance rules and about the features of the evacuation education. Besides we answered all questions of intended graduates and their parents”.

Talking about the changes to the entrance rules, LNU assured that they would increase the chances to enter the university. Thus the minimum score in ZNU certificate used to be 124 and now it is 101. Ukrainian language is still compulsory examination for the testing but ZNU certificates of previous years are not valid this year, only “fresh” ones – 2015 – are suitable.

But many rules remained unchanged. Still one can submit documents only to 5 universities for 3 training directions in each. Additional scores will be given to the participants of the IV stage of the All-Ukrainian Pupil Olympiads in basic disciplines and of the III stage of All-Ukrainian Competition-Defense of Research Works of Pupils-Members of Minor Academy of Science of Ukraine. Also the graduates of the preparatory courses of Faculty of Pre-professional Education of LNU will obtain the additional scores.

Besides the terms of document reception were announced at Luhansk University: for the intending full-time students it will from July, 10 to August 1, and for the intending extra-mural students – from July, 20 to August, 20.
