Graduate Became a Champion
26.10.2016
The graduate of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Lyubov Basova became a champion of cycling in Europe.
Lyubov Basova became the champion of Europe in track; she won in her crown discipline – keirin. Basova won gold of the European Championship for the second time in five years, which was held in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (France). In the final race, the Ukrainian sportswoman developed a speed 61,681km / h, beating the Belgian Nicky Degrendele and the Lithuanian Simona Krupetskayte, who took the second and third places.
Lyubov Basova brought to Ukraine the first gold medal at the European Track Championships in 2011. Then, participating in the competitions under the surname Shulika, she was able to win the sprint. It is interesting that during these five years, no one member of the cycling in Ukraine received any gold awards of the European Championships.
Let us recall that Basova became the fifth in keirin at the Olympics in Rio.
Congratulations!
