Ukrainian Cross Country Championship

From October 21 to 22, the Ukrainian Cross Country Championship took place in the city of Bila Tserkva.

It was the last national start of the season, which award the national champion titles. Also at the competitions in Bila Tserkva was held the selection in the national team of Ukraine, which on May 11 would participate in the European Cross Country Championships in the city of Chia (Italy).

The best Ukrainian athletes came to compete for a spot in the national team. They represent a variety of distances in the Olympic program. There were the experienced marathoners and runners on average distances. Thus, the European 2016 champion in the women’s 800 meters Natalia Prischepa from Rivne won the 4 km course in the category “youth”.

The first-year student of specialty “Sports” of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Bogdana Semenova, who competed with more experienced and award-winning athletes, started together with the current European champion at the distance of 4 km. Bogdana demonstrated the will to win, managed to get around a few athletes, and won the fifth place.

According to the results of the Championship, our athlete got to the reserve squad for Ukraine and received an invitation to the training camp in the Carpathians together with the national team.
