Participation in a Series of Master Classes

Future psychologists of LTSNU participated in a series of master classes on art therapy, which took place on the basis of the university.
The first and second year students of specialties “Psychology” and “Practical Psychology” of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology participated in a series of master classes on art therapy, which were held on the basis of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
The master classes were held by the master student of specialty “Psychology”, laboratorian of the Department of Psychology Aleksiy Shalnev.
Art therapy is a special form of psychotherapy, psychological correction and development of the individual, based on creative self-expression through a variety of art forms (painting, sculpture, music, dance, theater).
Art therapy is a new branch of psychotherapy, but differs by its performance and demonstration. Art therapeutic technologies are widely used in work with children and adult who have experienced violence. In addition, this method is one of the most effective in providing psychological support to people who have received psychological trauma during the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Subjects of trainings covered the most pressing problems of today’s youth, who lives in the area of the ATO.
During the master class with students were used the following types of art therapy:
- Color Therapy
- Sand therapy
- Cinema therapy
- Fairytale therapy.
Visit of the master class helped students-psychologists to plunge into the world of psychotherapy, feel like as a coach and as a client, get to know their inner world, find the resources to solve personal and interpersonal problems, learn about methods of preventing the personal burnout.
In addition, the freshmen were able to get acquainted with each other and the second year students. It was a significant step towards successful adaptation to university studies.
All the participants were satisfied with the participation in the event and now try to use new knowledge in practical work as soon as possible.
