The Visit of the Honored Guests

Students and teachers from Chernigiv visited Luhansk National University.

Chernihiv National Pedagogical University named after T.G. Shevchenko is one of the most prestigious and reputable educational institutions of Ukraine, where scientific achievements are introduced and successfully develop, as well as the best national historical and cultural traditions of the Ukrainian people.

In 2013, CNPU named after Taras Shevchenko signed a memorandum with the aim of preserving the unity and integrity of Ukraine, with the participation of representatives of 11 universities from all regions of our country. The Deputy Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology V.F. Pushko headed the delegation of LTSNU.

In response to the events of 2013, the current visit in Starobilsk took place at the invitation of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology (then head of the delegation in Chernihiv V.F.Pushko) and aimed at the continuation of the partnership with the CNPU named afer Taras Shevchenko and the exchange of experience on the student government.

During their stay, the guests from Chernihiv were present at all the ceremonies dedicated to the Day of Ukrainian Cossacks, the Holy Mother of God and the Defender’s Day of Ukraine.

The key event was a round table with the participation of the student government of the University. At the beginning of the event the Rector of LTSNU S.V. Savchenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work O.I. Babichev, the Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology  O.L. Karaman and the Deputy Director V.F. Pushko congratulated all the present. They noted that active students is the key to the stability and development of the university and the country. The Vice-Rector for Scientific, Pedagogical and Educational Work of CNPU named after Taras Shevchenko A.G. Tymoshenko told about his university and called for active cooperation and unity.

Leaders of both universities left students for independent discussion of topical issues of student youth and experience in student government.

Except the students from Chernihiv, the participants of the round table were student government bodies of all subdivisions of the University and Lysychansk Pedagogical College of LTSNU. The Chairman of the Student Directorate of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology I. Maslovska told about the features of the student government at the Institute and the University, after which the students discussed the topical issues of interaction of student youth from different universities.

Separately, guests interested in the organization of educational process at the university, as the media contains conflicting information about the usefulness of this process in the displaced universities.

The crowded audience, mass celebrations, demonstration of distance learning site and the possibility of on-line lectures impressed representatives of the Chernigiv University.

The next day, representatives of CNPU named after Taras Shevchenko visited Luhansk Regional Museum and learned the historical and cultural heritage of our region. One of the most relevant exhibitions was the exhibition “Rebellious Donbass: the Path to Peace”, which is devoted to the events of the ATO. It made all those present to reflect on the future and remember the past.

The visit of students and teachers from Chernigiv to Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is an important event and a sign of the All-Ukrainian support. “I was amazed and shocked the celebrations devoted to the Day of the Defender of Ukraine, because we did not expect from the University of east Ukraine such manifestations of patriotism, national pride and the quest for the unity of Ukraine. I have not seen in any of the university such devotion to Ukraine and faith in its future. In March, it is expected to hold a meeting in CNPU named after Taras Shevchenko, and representatives of your university will be invited, “– the Vice-Rector for Scientific, Pedagogical and Educational Work of CNPU named after Taras Shevchenko A.G. Tymoshenko said.
